Stylus - Glider Building Event

Thank you for your interest in being a part of this build session with Fort Bend RC.  We choose the Stylus on account of the parts count required to build the model, the time it takes to build the model, and offering a chance to see how your building skills match up against others who are building this same model in a fun, friendly, informal club contest called 'thermal duration" or "TD".

This course is led by 2023 Club President, Chris Riha, who has in-depth experience with model aircraft build, design, setup, and flying.  Chris will walk you through the build of the stylus, covering, and radio gear choices to help you get the most out of this model.  

The event is free to attend.  However each attendant will need to bring their own building tools, glue(s). sand paper, sanding blocks, building pins, No 11 hobby knife.

The cost to build this model from scratch, including a 12 channel Radio Master radio, servos, batteries, is priced around $315/person. (not including building tools, as you will be bring yours).  This cost is substantially less, if you have any of the items to use on-hand, such as 1/16, 1/32, 1/8 balsa sheets and sticks, a 2 channel micro receiver with micro servos, covering (preferrable transparent as it is lighter), 

We will be sending out a materials list to all who are attending with the requirements and your advise on what you may need.  Any items you may need, can be picked up from your local hobby shop such as Performance RC Hobby (Pearland),  Randys Hobbies (Northside) or Samano's Hobbies, (Southeast)  A full list will be provided to those registered and we will reach out to you for what items you may need.  Payment for those items will need to be done ahead of the event and that you have them in hand.  More detail lto follow.

Please note that Fort Bend RC will not be providing any building materials at the event unless they have been paid for  ahead of time.  In other words, walk-ins may have a difficult time participating if they did not RSVP (veriy important to do so) and have the required materials list on hand and keep up with the class.  All are welcomed to attend, but it is your responsibility to have your gear, building materials and tools in hand before you arrive.  Surprising, it doesn't take much to build this fun model!
